On the way up you could stop and do this amazing ropes course attraction. It's an utter blast and a nice way to break up the journey if you're coming from NYC. https://www.itatjordans.com/

There usually is one but it’s also usually really not tasty.

IME there are usually at least 2 and sometimes 3, and they change flavors regularly, some are delicious. Here's a link, the dairy free options are pareve.

For a couple that enjoys the outdoors, I'd suggest:

Hiking in the Blue Hills reservation
Fruit picking (peaches, blueberries)
Boating on the Charles (kayak, canoe, sail)
Take a walk around Walden Pond during a quieter hour (avoid the beach area for shmiras einayim)
Mini golf
Wade in the Frog Pond downtown

Lmk if you need links to any of the above, or info about Shabbos hospitality.

Here are some more ideas:
Taza chocolate factory tour https://www.tazachocolate.com/.....-tour (chocolate is O-U)
Boston harbor cruises
Museums - science, fine arts, Isabella Stewart Gardner, Harvard Univ museums (Glass flowers), JFK Library, MIT museum, Aquarium
Boston pops esplanade concert if you are here July 4th
Swan Boat ride
Fun places to walk around: Harvard Square, Newbury Street, Rockport or Gloucester.
Salem (most things related to witches, but there is House of Seven Gables if you like that, plus Peabody Essex Museum), but there is a kosher restaurant there called Adea's (call first to make sure they are open)
