Hi! I’m looking for getaway for a week in august to a beach in Europe (Spain, Italy, Portugal, south of France ect). We’re not picky - just needs to have kosher food options and a decent hotel and a beautiful beach. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated!

Thank you Wink

There is kosher food in Rome, and Sperlonga Beach is a short drive away.
(But Rome isn't a "beach destination" per se.)

Barcelona? The beach would be too crowded for me personally in the summer, but it's a nice destination for a city trip + beach, and has nice hotels and kosher restaurants.

Another option would be Marbella.

In France, Nice has a beach (and there are other even nicer beaches close by) and has kosher options.

I recently heard about Juan Le Pin in the French Riviera. Check it out.

Thank you. That’s an idea. Is it easy to get around Rome? Can we drive in the city?
Do you know the neighborhood where the food is?

Is that in Cannes?

No, Juan-les-Pins is part of Antibes, next to Nice. It's a very nice place. There are several restaurants and a shul.

You do not want to rent a car in Rome. Use buses or the metro. Not sure about getting to the beach -- there is probably a bus.

Most kosher restaurants are in the Jewish Quarter. It is not a big neighborhood, so you could easily stay in one of the adjacent areas

You may want to peruse the wider internet (instead of imamother) to research a little about each place you are considering.

I second this! It was scary just crossing the street in Rome. I'd never drive there and I drive basically everywhere else in the world.
The metro was great and cabs are everywhere.

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t associate Europe with nice beaches.

And the streets are narrow, there are randomly placed pedestrian zones where you cannot drive without incurring a huge fines, and parking is a nightmare.

What about Cyprus? There is a kosher hotel in Paphos.

The French Riviera would be my choice based on OP's criteria. It offers kosher food together with great options for beaches and lodging. But beware that there may be topless women on the beaches there if that's an issue for you.

There are nice beaches, but as someone mentioned above, some may be topless.

Yes, we went to a beach in Italy, it was beautiful and also topless (we had no idea that was even a thing)

Yes, frum people may not realize, but Americans tend to be way more modest/prudish than Europeans.

I’m pretty sure you were in a nude beach.

Anyone has info on Marbella?

Europeans do sunbathe topless, it's not unheard of at any beach there. I've seen it in Miami, at the hotel pool, btw, and knew right away the person wasn't American. (Sure enough, I heard her talking in French.) Just be prepared even if it is not an officially nude beach it is very possible there will be topless women there.
