this has 15g sugar and no added sugar but the ing says sugar?

what is the 15g sugar anyway?

https://www.koshericecream.com.....cone/

this does have 12g added sugar?

I am trying to work out how much sugar one ice cream cone/serving in tub really has...

This post intrigued me, so I did some looking around.

Whether the nutrition list was put together accurately on those packages is beyond my research, but it would appear that the first is detailing the amount of sugar used in the process of making the ice cream, and the second lists as "added sugar" the additional sugar in the caramel, chocolate, and cone.

If you look at the number of total carbohydrates, you can see the comparison.

The first link looks like there is an error in the nutrition info. The sygar looks like it is all added.

The second link has 12 g added sugar (from sugar in the ice cream, and sugar and molasses in the cone). The other 3 grams if sugar are natural sugars that are found in the ingredients, like natural sugars in milk.

Total sugar is what both really have. Added and natural are both sugars so count them both

The first is definitely an error. It just says "g" with no number before it. If it were 0, it would say 0.

so the ice cream cone eg has a total of 12 g sugar and 3 gram natural sugar? not 15g sugar plus 12 g sugar =
27 g sugar?

carbs means sugar?

Sugars includes added sugars, so it's a total of 15g sugar including 12g added. Sugar is a type of carbs. In the plain ice cream, all the carbs come from sugar, but in the ice cream cones, some of the carbs are from the flour in the cone.

so it works out 3 tsp sugar in 1 ice cream cone.

I must say I thought it was way more.

I wanted to make a cheese cups frozen for my kids instead of the bought junk but the sugar in it works out the same per small cup which they will have 2-3 cups - 30g-45g sugar.

Carbs are carbohydrates, which includes sugar. They are not the same thing
The other carbohydrates are probably from the flour in the ice cream cone.

The ice cream cone has 26 total carbs. Of the 26 g carbs, 15 g are from sugar.

Of the 15 g of sugar, 12 are from added sugar.

The added sugar is giving you a breakdown of how much is from added sugar and how much is from natural sugar. You don't add the two together.
