Tonight is Pesach sheini. In the time of the beis hamikdosh, this served as a 2nd opportunity to bring the korban pesach. Altho originally demanded by those who were impure thru no fault of their own, the opportunity exists even for someone who intentionally didn't bring the korban in Nisan and did teshuva before the 14th of iyar.

Pesach sheini is the avoda of ba'al teshuva and is different than the avoda of a tzadik that Pesach represents.

Some of the differences between the 2 is that Pesach sheini is only 1 day, not 7, and also that chametz is permitted in the house at the time. This is because the ba'al teshuva is able to transform evil into holiness, something a tzadik cannot do and that it can happen "k'heref ayin" - immediately, not necessitating a 7-day process.

May we all merit it soon in our days.

(think of this while munching on the matzo! Very Happy)
