ok every so ofen in bina or mishpacha I read a good tip for cleaning, laundry storage or practically anything in the house...

I thought maybe a thread to share what you know on these topics....

one I read yesterday was not to store potatoes with onions...
one iv'e been using a while is to label my girls tights - 2 dots for my second child, 3 for the third.. and then when I pass them down I just add a dot...

Please share your tips.........

I write "Blue" in fabric paint on the waistband of navy tights so I can tell them apart from the black ones. Probably I should do this with other things, too, but tights are the hardest to tell apart.

Dot idea (one dot for the first, two for the second, etc.) works for all clothes-not just tights. This way, it is easier for someone else to help you fold and put away laundry.

One thing that I recently started doing is hiding a laundry basket behind a recliner in my living room, for all of those times that I end up changing my children there, as well as for towels and things from the kitchen. I live in a three story house so this saves a lot of shlepping.

a tip for sewing on your buttons--fold the thread in half and then thread the needle (the eye can't be too small) and then you'll have a 4 strand thread and only have to go through the button 3x's instead of 6.
Now I just have to do it!!! Confused

for all other housework--hire cleaning help Very Happy Wink

Glad to hear it. Doesn't everyone?

But, seriously, I think she means for sewing buttons, not just for oral hygiene.

she means for buttons too, but you can't really do it for sew thru ones and it doesn't knot the best. it is the best for metal buttons though because the metal can rip the thread.

put the folded blanket cover and sheet in the pillow case when putting away. you'll always find a set that way.

Unless you have a pump for your dish detergent, add a little water to the bottle and if comes out much faster. My cleaning lady once added water to my bottle when I didn't have enough and ever since then, I've been doing it.

don't take your next load out of the dryer till the load before that has been folded and put away. it takes another minute and you won't be left with a mountain of laundry that way.
