(Several decades have passed since I went to camp. My daughters didn't go to camp - there isn't really sleepaway camp where we live. So, I have to go back in time in order to try and remember camp.
Probably, camp has changed in some ways since when I was in camp.
I'd be delighted to hear of changes in 'going to camp' and camp experiences that have evolved over the decades.
Two changes I can think of are digital cameras and cellphones.
Nowadays, do campers take with cellphones to camp?
In my days there were long queues at the 2 telephone booths if one wanted to phone home. And one got through via pushing coins into the telephone.
It's been nice, reminiscing of the good old camp days, in this game. )
I was just telling my husband about sending letters from camp when I was a kid, he was wondering if children do that nowadays! (Though we didn't call it "post", we said "mail" )

Was just thinking the same! (well, not several decades, less than 2!) I went to camp for many wonderful summers, I have amazing memories from them! My children laugh when I come up with old songs that I suddenly remember out of the blue, and ask - is that from camp??
We do have sleepaway camps here, though my daughters have never been yet. My son will be going this summer, though I think the mesivta camps are pretty different than the girls camps.
We also used payphones in my days, stood on long lines (queues ) to use them. And we brought disposable cameras! Remember those?
