Can anyone advise about the process of getting speech therapy via insurance?

My child got denied from service from Board of Ed (NYC) but I still want therapy for him.

Ty. I should call the insurance company and ask them where I can send it to?

How do I find a provider? word of mouth and she sees the child in her home?

I'm such a beginner... Do most insurance companies do this? I have Fidelis/Medicaid.

No, you don't call insurance and ask them where to send it to.
You give the prescription to the provider and they bill insurance.

Finding a provider is a different ball game.

Where are you located?

I don't think you'll find someone who will see you in your home.
The reimbursement rate doesn't make it worth it for the provider.

Find a provider that accepts your insurance. Give them the prescription/referral.
They bill insurance, you pay copays etc if needed.

I dont have medicaid but this is the process I had to go through. And no one really sees in your home especially Medicaid providers. It isnt worth it financially for them.

When my kids needed speech therapy, I asked around for recommendations, then called the places and found out if they took my insurance/were in-network.
For sure with one of my kids I needed a referral from the pediatrician.
You give your insurance info to the provider and they bill insurance, depending on your plan there may be copays/deductible/max out of pocket etc.
With one of my kids, we had to pay separately for the evaluation.

Bumping this.

Can anyone advise on a good speech therapist in Boro Park?

Speechlearn is too far from me.

Per my insurance website, Ezra provides speech therapy. Does anyone have experience with them?

Looking for either a therapist at home or an agency that is in mid 50s and 14Ave neighborhood.

TIA!
