My 7 year old daughter has seen an ENT (due to snoring and runny nose) who right away recommended surgery. I was taken by surprise and didn’t feel ready for it.
I wld like to hear of anyone has experience with this
Shld I take her for a second opinion? A sleep lab?
If you have exp with it pls share if you’re happy with results? Do you regret it? Any advice going into it.

I did the surgery on my under 2 year old. I did a sleep lab and x-ray it showed enlarged adenoids with severe sleep apnea. I don't know if I would rush to surgery before doing a sleep lab for a kid that age (1.5 don't do well in sleep studies  ). If there isn't bad sleep apnea and it doesn't bother her I would go a more natural route and kids eventually lose their adenoids at some point.

Does she always have a blocked nose.?
2 of my kids have had tonsils and adenoids removed.
They had a runny nose constantly and spike very nasally.
v happy with it ,no complications bh.
I had to beg and wait a long time for surgery.
One at age 3.
One at age 1.
Problems startes when they were under 1.
I havent heard it done at age 7.
When did her problems start?

I had it done as a teen. I can’t say much changed afterwards but I am able to breathe through my nose now before I couldn’t. Swimming would have been easier if it would have been done younger. I had to reteach myself how to breathe.
My adenoids were very swollen.
