! stick of maragrine
2 cups of brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup chopped walnuts
In a large bowl, cream marg, vanilla and sugar. Add eggs mix well. Add dry ingredients. Stir in walnuts. Spread into a greased 9x13 pan.
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

If I can guess, they'll probably turn out more like cake than brownies. Either way they'll get eaten around here, but I'd really like it to be brownies, not cake, so we'll see.

No chocolate? I've never seen any other kind of brownie. How brown are they?
My mother makes something she calls yummy bars, with coconut. Maybe this is something like it, (w/o the coconut). anyway, I'm going to try it.

My mother calls these blondies.
Reading this makes me want to go bake them... and I'm supposed to be on a diet... and DH is trying to stay away from cake... help!!!! I want them so much!

I did take out some sugar from the recipe, btw.
The whole thing took 10 minutes, I did it by hand. My kids were a bit disappointed that it takes "so long" to bake. They told me it should only take one minute!
