Thanks! |
Best tip I ever got was, when packing, start with one corner of one room, pack that up, then move to another corner, pack that, etc, until you finish each room.
If you do the opposite and pack some from here, then some from a different room, etc., you never finish.

Take smaller boxes from your grocer for small sfarim like siddurim. |
Did anyone else do this? Did you like it?

I made a box with basic supplies-toilet paper, tissues, cleaning supplies etc. There's nothing worse than getting there, kid desperate for the toilet and oh, no toilet paper.
The rolling up the bedding was amazing. Once the beds were in, we could just unroll and they were ready.
I also packed a case as if we were away for a couple of nights so didn't have to worry about needing to find clothes the next morning. I also included towels, shower gel/shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste in that so we didn't need to search when it came to bedtime.
Another thing I did which made a big difference was I went the day before the big moving day (we had a few days overlap) and I packed up all the kitchen stuff and then emptied it in the new house. So when we came, we had a fully functioning kitchen and I could cook as normal, even if the rest of the house was in boxes.
