Yes, it is Tisha B'Av!

Let's make SHOLOM with our parents who are willing to accept any boundary.

Why don't you set an example for us and YOU try making shalom with those you've hurt on this thread and on imamother.

Please explain how it makes sense to attack a poster who’s engaging respectfully with you. To hurt someone who’s never hurt you on the pretense of sticking up for parents who have been unjustly alienated.

You suggest that SOMETIMES the child is unjustified.

It bestbubby did any of your children cut off from you and that's why you have this massive chip on your shoulder about this??

Kibud av v’eim is making sure your parents have food and shelter and speaking respectfully to their faces. No where does it say that you must speak to your parents. In fact rabanim pasken better to avoid your parents than risk yelling at them or fighting with them. No one is required to keep chumros of kibud av v’eim. Anyone who wants to go above and beyond good for them but that’s a personal decision and you have no right to push it on the masses.

Abuse means abuse?

So if a parent ever yelled at a child, the child can cut the parents off?

After the parents paid for school, camps, seminary, and the wedding, furniture etc.
I'm bothered by this post because this is how many parents do things. Of course we're good parents! Didn't we pay for xyz? We could have made you support yourself from the halachik age just like devoshe does to her kids. Instead you pay us back with a slap? The chutzpa!
Well money does not buy a child love.

Best Bubby, you wrote on another thread:

Why wouldn't it be true if you replace "friend" with parent?

Really? You don't see the difference between dropping a friend and dropping a PARENT???

I am speechless! Surprised

Because she uses emotional logic.

I recommend all of Issendai's posts on the subject.

No. Not one either interferes intentionally with my marriage and relationship with DH.
