Looking for somewhere pretty and private with lots of nature for a young married couple with not much $ to go for a few days. Not fancy. Not a place where there are a lot of people. A cabin in the woods, a yurt... clean, pretty and inexpensive.

When we were in that stage, we went hiking in Big Indian and had a really great time. We stayed in some motel/inn, brought a travel grill and enjoyed each other’s company and the outdoors. We also went to Minnewaska State Park on a different trip. Not sure about the cost of lodging in that area (Mohonk is $$$$) but the park itself is really nice and there are minyanim nearby in Ellenville. If you want to venture further, we also took similar trips to Letchworth State Park and the Finger Lakes area. Loads to to, stunning outdoors, and you can definitely do it inexpensively.
