By R Yaakovsohn
What’s your take on it?
Do you like it?
Is it helpful?
Yeshivish family, no parenting role models in the family. Intense kids. Want to fix things…

I found it extremely helpful. But you still have to work thru your own triggers so you're not being reactive to your kids.

Learn it with DH.
It’s BRILLIANT and makes so much sense. Doing it slowly. I’m bad with courses and books and this is the one thing I’m doing and I’m really into it.

This is definitely something DH and I need to make sure of, but thank you!

I've heard it's really good. Didn't learn it myself.

DH and I are learning it now. Absolutely fantastic sefer. Rav Yaakovson understands kids (and human nature) very well. In addition to being practical and well organized, the sefer is extremely validating for me. So much of what I went through as a kid makes so much more sense now. 1000000% recommend!

Yes, it’s a book. Having abusive childhoods etc, we don’t know how to tell if the approach is correct, but want something DH and I can do together.

Also grew up in a dysfunctional home and would love to read it. Can you link it?

We need maps to guide us. Our maps failed us.

It’s definitely not an easy read. Each page has so much to think about. I’ve found it works well when doing it with someone else- reading it out loud and discussing with DH works for me

I found it to very organized though so even though it's a lot of info it was very well built up and not repetitive or fluffy
