Hate it! What can I do?
He can come in as early as 5:30 sometimes falling asleep but oftentimes not. So I'm basically up every morning from 5:30:banging head

I don't have so much to say except hang in there, it will pass. I am reading your post and thinking back fondly to those days...my girls are now teenagers and will only wake mid-day without my prodding.

I hope others give you some advice, but please don't get too worked up about it if you can't change it.

You may need to try a few things.
1st explain what else he can do when he wakes up. Prepare a special toy the night before for him to play with when he gets up.
You can try a contest.
Make a huge deal when he doesn't wake you.
Talk about it with him see if he may have fears or concerns being alone...Talk him through it.

Have you tried an ok to wake clock? We have our toddler trained she can come get cuddles when it turns yellow and go downstairs when it turns green. It took some bribery to start the routine though

What time does he go to bed? 5.30 is very early. Maybe a later bedtime?
Would it bother you as much if he came at 7.00?

My son does the same thing. Sometimes he shows up in the middle of the night. I just move over and let him in. I’ve had many a sleepless night but he’s a little cutie who just needs his mommy. I love that I can provide the comfort he needs.
Sometimes if he’s kicking me too much in middle of the night or stealing my blanket I just carry him back to his bed or tell him to go play.

My 3 almost 4 year old son started doing similar but it’s ussually in middle of the night. He falls asleep next to me. I think he just needs his mommy so I try not to mind.
