There are certain brands that specialize in comfortable shoes. Some are clunkier than others.

Your best bet is to go to a really good shoe store and actually try on shoes. There are stores that specialize in "walking shoes" or comfortable shoes.

Keep in mind that one person might find a shoe comfortable and another person might find it extremely uncomfortable. This is especially true if a shoe has an arch support because that can be super uncomfortable for someone who doesn't have a naturally high arch.

Once you have tried on shoes and found comfortable brand you can probably order on the internet because you know how they will fit.

Alternatively you can order lots of shoes from zappo and return the ones that don't work. You can do a search of comfortable or other key words and then read the reviews carefully to get a sense of what may or may not work for you.

I really love Clarks for comfort. I have flats from years ago that are amazing but I tried a new style recently and they weren't good. Maybe they have other styles though.

SAS. They're made to be comfortable and supportive. Some of the styles look orthopedic, but others are halfway decent, especially in certain colors. Zappos has them with free shipping. There is greater selection on the SAS website, but they charge for shipping.

I have sam edelman shoes at home and they're uncomfortable. Which one do you have?
