Our last favorite was Spiced Rice, I think it was from the Between Carpools cookbook? But we're tired of it even though it tastes good. Our other go-to is to make it plain with some salt and serve with something saucy, like a saucy chicken and you just spoon some of the chicken sauce over the rice. I want to make a rice for Shabbos and we're not eating anything saucy. Please send your favorite recipe.
Preferably does not include any sugar or very minimal sugar.

Google “confetti rice” for recipes. It’s colorful and easy to make.
I love to add sautéed onions and mushrooms to rice.
You can also stir fry some vegetables to make fried rice.
My mother used to add broken up pieces of spaghetti to the rice to cook together.

Would it still be interesting without the crumbs? I don't have anything to make crumbs with.
Thanks for the leads, both of you!

If you want delicious, you can sauté onions and mushrooms in margarine and add some beef bouillon to that mixture. Then add it to the rice.

I don't know if this is too sweet to you, but you can cook the rice like always but sub OJ for half the liquid. Let it cool and then mix in craisins, sliced almonds, sliced scallions. You can skip the craisings if too sugary, but it give it a nice color.

Recently made rice.
I used butter to toast it a bit, then added salt, garlic and onion powder (only a sprinkle of each) then added dill weed in it.
Added water and baked it for 35 min or so
Was yummy.

I cook it with coconut milk or coconut oil (a little goes a long way!) Add it in addition to the water, not instead.
Yum! It comes out moist and flavorful.
