We finally have a few hours for us to go out or be alone: does anyone have any recommendations around New York area, we need calm, alone time , maybe even a hotel we don’t mind booking a night even if we stay only a few hours. Or any other ideas ?

NY is full of people enjoying the outdoors in the summer, so you won't be alone anywhere. But any of the parks are beautiful - central Park, prospect park, Brooklyn bridge park.

So maybe I need to go out of New York… anything not far from New York that I would find more quiet and calm…. Romantic… we only get a few hours to go somewhere and this is very rare

What does a few hours mean? If you only have 3-4 hours do you want to spend 1/2 that time driving? I wouldn’t.
Maybe walk along the beach or boardwalk in Long Beach? They have kosher ice cream
