If you had the choice:
to send an 18 month old to playgroup three mornings a week and have a babysitter at home with me while I work for the rest of the day
Or
Keep her home with me all day with babysitter while I work
Which would you do?
I want to send my daughter out because I think she will enjoy it but I am worried about her coming down with colds/ illnesses all the time.
She has been home with me since she was born.

On this site woman tend to believe in sending out for the social benefits. I feel children should be with their moms until they can communicate about their day.

An 18 month old is still a baby. She does not need to go out at all. The only reason you should send such a young child out is if you're working. So if you have a babysitter in the house, that serves the same purpose.

This is the best thing you can do for your child.
A baby belongs with her mother.

Each child has different needs. How is she around other kids? Is she the only child?
If you see your kid enjoys being around others and is an only child than send out.
I wouldn’t not send out because of germs because eventually they will get exposed to it either way.

I would send. My kids at 18 months were very ready for social interaction and more exciting toys and activities than I have at home. The bigger issue is that in a couple months she'll be 20 months + and my kids really got bored as the only kid home then
