I want to line my lace top by myself. Where do I get the material to use?

I've seen photos where there is a small piece that just covers the part. It doesn't look like a big deal to do that. My sheitel has bangs. It's just a small area. Why not?

I would just be too scared to touch a sheital and do repairs if I wasnt trained in it, bc remember if you touch it or DIY and it goes wrong, the SM will not touch it after its already been tampered with
I didnt know people do bangs with lace tops, why not get a regular skin top?

It seems easy enough, a piece of lining underneath the net. But then you have to think of threads and needles and the whole thing sounds like a bad idea. It shouldn't cost too much to have it done professionally. You don't want to have threads and knots visible or a torn net from sewing.

I didn't get it from a SM. It's not so high quality and I don't want to put more money into it, but I don't want to wear it as is.

What about wearing a wig grip under to make it opaque and not see through?

I would do it. I have sewn many hems and repairs so I feel comfortable with it. I would first find someone who has had it done and examine their shaitel. Try to figure out what kind of fabric it is and hownthey sewed it and then go to Joann's to buy fabric. Do tiny gentle stitches. I think it should be fine.
