I haven't tried that, but I do keep a few in the fridge for my toddler and they've been good for up to a week. Not sure how far in advance you want to prep.

No! Don't do it. Hard boiled eggs last a week in a cold fridge.

I'm asking because I want to take them along on vacation and nervous about traveling with them just with ice packs

Just this past Shabbos, my fridge froze my hard boiled eggs because they were in the back. They looked really odd and and shriveled. I don't think anyone was even willing to taste them.

Frozen - yes. Good results - no.
Our fridge always gets on the Shabbat setting much colder than normal and everything near the back wall freezes solid. I've had countless hard boiled eggs accidentally frozen. They are horrible when they thaw up. Rubbery and mealy at the same time. I hate throwing away food but even by my lights they are inedible. Even our dog won't eat them! Don't do it.
