no way! That’s well over 8 karats, plus a lot of gold. Where can I get that for under 5k?

For example...

Op I’d definitely go for white gold, super classic.

Also, do you have classic earrings to go with the look? I’d first invest in a nice earring and necklace situation (doesn’t have to match but if both are white gold and diamonds it would look stunning and classic) over a bracelet.

Diamond studs:

Get a tennis necklace, stones all the same size (graduated is too fancy for every day) at least 10 pointers each.
It’s very classic and will retain its value. You can make them into something else if you get bored.

I like this idea too
It’s for all ages, & can be worn for all occasions.
Can you layer this type of necklace ?

As a jewelry store owner I would recommend either a pretty classical pendant, a tennis choker with a delicate mounting, or for a very delicate, never take off look, a solitaire. The diamond by the yard necklaces are also nice but cant be worn for every type of clothing.

Curious if you didn't recommend a bar necklace, Bec it's not age appropriate? or Bec it's a style as opposed to a classic ? I'm seeing that style a lot.

I sold bars to mostly younger women. Some older ones wear them as well but not many.

Thanks for the reply. I really like the bar necklace style.

Are the heart pendants for "younger women" too?

I'm talking 40 years old. Is that young or old - seems like right in the middle lol

My 60+ year old relative wears a heart necklace. It’s an open heart with nice sized diamonds. Beautiful. It was expensive

Right, that's the style I'm talking about. I'd think that was a "younger" look than the bar.?

I would recommend a heart shaped pendant with bigger diamonds or with different diamond shapes for this age. I have one specific one that is not your typical that I've just sold to a 60+ years old.

She got it when she was a grandmother Smile
It doesn’t look immature because it has nice sized diamonds.

Makes sense. In that respect anything with large enough diamonds would be considered mature 😁

Although then you run the risk of it being too gaudy for weekday
