When I was a kid, we used to play Little Sally Saucer, The Farmer in the dell, Punchinello Funny Fellow, Red Rover, Tzippor Tzippor, A Tisket A Tasket, and Rattlesnake. I am so disappointed that my kids do not even know what these games are.

They do, however, know Duck duck goose.

Am I the only one who misses these games? I want to teach my kids to play them.

Miss them? Not at all. They've been replaced by other games. Why are they so important to you? It's not as if they have much educational or other value. They were just fun, and your children have their own forms of fun just as they have books to read that didn't exist when you were their age.

Kids are AFAIK still playing tag, hide and seek, dodgeball, jumprope, hopscotch, and a whole slew of other classic childhood games. No need to mourn the passing of your favorites, if in fact they are dead and gone and not just unknown where you happen to live. Besides, what's stopping you from teaching your kids these games and letting them teach their friends?

I don’t think it’s a matter of serious importance to OP. Seems like she’s just nostalgic…

I remember those games too!

Maybe teach them to your kid's teachers.

Write up a description.

Do kids still play "Steal the Salami"?

Oh, I forgot about steal the salami.

Of course I'm not spending my life mourning the loss of these games. But it came to mind a couple of times lately, and I would love to see my kids playing these things.

Cuz they were fun, healthy games. Before kids were glued to devices.

Who remembers "Johnny may I cross your Golden River?"

You needed to be wearing a certain color to cross, or else you had to try to sneak across
and avoid being tagged.
