Has anyone tried cannabis oil for an autistic child (under 18) who is irritable/aggressive? We have tried antipsychotics like risperidone which worked well but had to stop because of side effects and are desperate to find something else. (We've also tried a bunch of other classes of medication without meaningful impact,won't detail here)
Hence, I'm exploring other options.
I see there are a # of late stage clinical trials in kids that support the idea, but my doctor can't officially opine on this and I'm curious for any anecdotal information.
So, if you answer yes, can you share details like:
What age child?
Why did you use CBD ?
In what format/dose?
Over what length of time?
Did you see any meaningful improvement in your target behaviors? And, after what amount of time?

If you get on fb autism biomed groups you will find loads of parents who tried cbd for autism, along with many many other biomedical treatments to treat the causes and symptoms of autism.
Do you have a maps dr or is it a regular pediatrician?
Tacanow website may have some more info for you, but at the end of the day every kid is individual and your best bet is probably to do your own self trial.
Personally, going gluten free, detoxing heavy metals and treating strep and Lyme did more for my asd kid than cbd, but we may try cbd again sometime down the road.
