Crying while going to sleep

if there is a new baby it’s likely related to the changes in the family. I would try to talk to him about the hard and good things about having a new baby and remind him how much you love him. I would try to be clear and direct about what the bedtime routine will look like and if you will or won’t stay in the room. we do 2 checks in after we leave the room, each are short and are after 5 minutes and then we leave the room and don’t come back. it’s ok for kids to need to cry a little to decompress at bedtime.

we had similar issues when our baby was born for a few months and it was so hard and I feel for you! it really did get better
