Hi there,

My daughter (16) would like to go to sleepaway camp this year.
Its my first time applying and searching for the right camp..
Does anyone have more info over these camps (what kind of girls, fancy, ages, hashkafa,..)?
Thanks!

Is she turning 17 in 2023? That age is staff age no longer camper age.

The only one I know about is Maayan, because I have a coworker who sent there- it is very chilled, VERY out of town. They don't emphasize knee socks and focus on middos and fun. I would love send there since I myself am extremely chilled but my daughters friends are more yeshivish and I doubt any of them will go there. They will all probably go to maarava.
OP, send where her friends are going. That's all that matters, especially at this age, when any camp you send to will be old friends reuniting from previous years, not young kids meeting for the first time. 16/17 is either the oldest age as camper or staff already, so it's going to be hard for her in that sense which is why it's really important that she goes where her friends go.

Thanks for your reply
We are not from the US so most of her friends are going on holiday with their family(that's the norm where I live)
She literally wants to go sooo bad and she doesn't mind going herself. She doesnt usually have any problems making friends. Do most girls actually come with groups?
Also I know she is older but I saw on Maarava's website that they go till 12th grade for campers.
Thanks for the info about the camps!
