Im looking for names of therapists (talk therapy for girl in her 20s, with emotional issues) who take insurance and can be seen quickly, without a wait list.
Ezra and Boro Park Counseling Center both have a long procedure that can take months until youre booked for an appointment with a therapist.
She needs to see someone asap, as a requirement to get into a group program.

Is it perhaps worth to pay privately for the one appointment to get into the program?

It has to be ongoing throughout the IOP. If we dont have a choice, we will pay.
Ideally someone who accepts insurance or is sliding scale would be good, because DD has no income.

Did you actually speak to these clinics? Maybe they would rush the appointment if it is urgent.

Yes. They have long waiting lists.

Does it have to be a frum person? If not, you can just log into the portal for the health insurance, and do a search on therapists within a radius of a zip code. Or call the health insurance and ask them to verbally give you a list, or email it to you.

Asking for a therapist who takes insurance isn't really the best way to go because not every therapist takes every insurance anyway as insurance has networks of therapists.
Private insurance policies will have different networks to a great extent because even if they are the same company the coverage will differ depending on the actual policy offered by your employer.
As recommended get the list of therapists in your area who are in your network and start calling them for an appointment.
If there are no appointments available for any therapist call up your insurance company and ask them to give you a name of someone who has availability.

Have you called Counterforce?
They have all frum therapists and I doubt you’ll have to wait. Some take insurance some not but they do work with you. Pm me if you want names of which therapists to request.

Premium usually has quite a waitlist.
I know someone that needed someone quickly recently and got an appointment at Sipuk clinic within a week or 2 (or less). I heard they have some good therapists there. Try them.
Pesach Tikvah clinic is also a good option, but I'm not sure how long it takes to get set up with someone.

Are you comfortable sharing which IOP this is? Most programs will help you find a therapist if this is a requirement.

Don't send to sipuk. They are unprofessional with no protocols in place. They will have parent fill out intake forms and then won't have an intake session with parent and never set up goals or communicate them. They cancel sessions constantly and you may show up at assigned to find out therapist isn't there.

For an adult client? Then the adult client should fill out the forms and have all sessions. Parents shouldn't be doing anything...
If we are talking about a child- under 18- it differs.
