Before you start judging, both of these opportunities I have been saving up for and looking forward to for several years.
I've been wanting to take my family (DH and 2 toddlers) to Israel for a few years now. Also, my sister and I have been planning on going on a few day vacation to a tropical island.
This January I will have a month off and for several reasons this will be my only opportunity to do both trips (and I found an amazing deal and prices for both). They will have to be back to back. There will just be Shabbos in between the trips.
Which trip makes sense to do first?
Israel - taking 2 toddlers for 10 days.
Other trip - beach and chill vacation with just my sister for 3 days (plus some water activities).
The Israel trip will be a family trip. Not a vacation. It will be exhausting. Plus the time change and jet lag...
Would it make sense to do this first and then treat myself to a little vacation with my sister? Or will I be too exhausted and jet lag to even enjoy it?
Or should I first enjoy myself with my sister and then work hard (take my family to Israel)? I don't have family there or anything so it's all on me.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

So exciting! I'd probably do the harder trip to Israel first. For me, I'd end up worrying/planning for Israel while on the beach vacation, not able to fully relax. That's my personality though and you may be different.

I would do the vacation with sister first. Flying with my kids exhausts me, I don’t think I’d be in the mood for another trip. Just my opinion.
Have fun!

Israel with 2 toddlers sounds miserable. Long flight, jet lag, no routine. Skip it and do it when their older.

I'd do the Israel trip first. Then you'll have shabbos to sorta come back to yourself (as much as you with two toddlers lol) and then rest and enjoy the paradise with your sister.

So the island is not an actual deal but it's less than $300 NYC to USVI (roundtrip) in January. That's awesome! And we will get cheapest place to stay. And bring our own food. That that seems pretty affordable.
