If you hired somebody to design the layout of your house what did you pay for that?
And do you have somebody to recommend?

I paid $110 an hour so it goes by how picky you are and how many changes you keep on making. Some people are happy the first try and it cost very little and some people keep wanting them to make changes. Also are you coming in with ideas of sort of how you want your layout to be?
I personally think it’s smarter to go with an architect I only used a space planner to do my basement because I knew what I wanted down there and she needed to work with the space that I have.

Who are you using? If you are spending so much why don’t you pay a real architect? There is so much more to a house than where the rooms go? As an architect does the layout he is thinking about the ceiling and the roof and where the duct work is going. What do you
Gain by going to a space planner vs. architect?

If you’re eventually planning on using a designer, find out if they do layouts, since if they do, it’s a waste to pay someone separately.
Unless your space is unique, or you’re working with small spaces….
