If someone is going to be traveling to Israel and wants to buy some small appliances in advance ( so don't have to spend time when you get there and don't have to spend time toiveling) can one even purchase 220 volt appliances in US (or dual voltage that just needs a plug adapter, NOT a converter). Thinking of small kitchen appliances like hand blender, toaster, kettle, waffle maker and the like. Please advise.

Thanks!
So it's a specialized product ? Meaning I wouldn't be able to find anything on Amazon or the like?

Amazon does have some. Just do a search

You have to make sure it has an Israeli plug not a European one. If it has a European plug all you need is a little piece on the end to change the plug but without it you won't be able to use it.

Israeli plugs are EU plugs. No adapter necessary.

That's weird. I bought a few things from Bondy before making aliyah. One of them has an adapter plug he put on top of the regular plug. Maybe it was originally a UK plug? Anyway it was 220 but had different shape prongs.

The plugs themsleves are extremely easy to change, (just cut off and replace, ask youtube for help) or use a cheap adapter peice, so I wouldn't worry if they are uk plugs. I have bought some 220v electrical items in frum shops, so ask them.

Cutting off the plug invalidates the warranty, but in most cases that doesn't matter too much. I had no hesitation changing the plug on a number of small appliances, but when I bought a new laptop in England I left the original plug and used an adaptor for Israeli sockets.

I didn't know that! In that case buying a small cheap adaptor works too. The problem with that is they keep getting borrowed for other appliances.

If you have an EU plug you can actually plug it into the UK sockets, but prob not a good idea to engage in this type of risky behaviour.
