I like it with soft israeli cheese, lavane, etc.
I use it in spicy soup too, not to cook but as a toping.
It goes with salads too

My calendar informs me that tomorrow is International Za'atar Day, so we could all make an effort to use it for Shabbos!

I mix with olive oil and rub on chicken. So good! Also I use sometimes on roasted cauliflower instead of my usual spices.

Avocado Cheese toasts. Toast WW bread, top with mashed avocado, a slice of tomato, crumbled feta cheese, and Zaatar. Yum!

(I like Trader Joe's Zaatar seasoning)

also yum on chunked avocado, olive oil, salt, zaatar.
Ditto on tomato salad

That's a thing, too!

Za'atar Chicken and Potatoes
Cut very small pieces of baby chicken or schnitzel and potato
Chicken with salt, pepper, and olive oil in oven on 375 while peeling and cutting up potatoes
Layer potatoes on top, pour some olive oil on, add to thyme, oregano, and zaatar- two pinches of each
Cook until done, mix twice during cooking

My oven is on the fritz so I used a crockpot.

I used 8 full leg/thighs so 16 total pieces no skin.

Salt and pepper, three heaping table spoons of zaatar, squeezed two lemons over it and I threw the actual lemon in too but my kids were mixed on it being too sour so I would not do that again. A few liked a few didn't. I drizzled some honey over and then let it cook on low all day.

Was delicious.

Chummos with olive oil and Za'atar. You can use it on scrambled eggs, baked vegetables. First see if you like the taste before you spread it on your chicken.
