Would like to bake a cake and I’m out of regular flour I only have high gluten. Can I use that to bake?

I'm no maven, but I was told the extra gluten helps the rising (which is why I use it for challah), so your cake may rise extra. Though I do know people who use high gluten flour for baking all the time.

No because it will make it a tough crumb.
Gluten makes bread chewy and creates a stronger "structure which helps the bread rise. You don't want a strong structure for a cake - you want a delicate moist crumb.
The best cakes actually use cake flour which has lower gluten content than AP flour.
