DH family has a minhag that the men fast until chatzos on erev RH. My family never did growing up, trying to figure out how common it is.

Honestly it’s making my day a lot harder 🙈 currently expecting and having a hard time getting the house together and he is only half here…

Edited for typos

It’s pretty common, many people who do it don’t talk about it because it’s a personal thing.

We don't. But this year our community took on for all adults to fast as a zechus for some sick members.

So DH and I are both fasting.

DH is fasting. I’m currently expecting, but either way I’ve never done it.

He is still helping out a lot. I didn’t realize he was fasting until he just mentioned it.

My husband does it as a remaining minhag from yeshiva days. I didn't even notice it for years- he eats before he leaves for early slichos and has a late lunch.

As a little girl, I remember my grandmother (mom's mom) fasting till chatzos on Erev R"H (and also first day of slichos)

My parents and I also fast till chatzos. I'm not sure if all my sisters do.

My husband also fasts till chatzos, and I'm certain my FIL does. I don't know about my MIL.

It's definitely a minhag.

My husband does it and it doesn't affect his helping around the house. If it did then he wouldn't

I’m finding this interesting, the poll is definitely leaning heavily towards “never heard of it” but most comments are the opposite.

Dh did it today. I didn’t vote in the poll because
I don’t thing it’s a minhag for everyone over bar mitzvah rather if someone wants to do it, they do. (My boys are young but I don’t think dh would tell them to fast.)

Yes, I heard of it.
It's not a minhag in my family.
