No it’s way too puffy. No full length coat will be safe. You need to layer. Thing sweater, thin blanket tucked around straps and then thicker blanket on top.

How do you take the child from house to car seat in cold weather? I just bought my 10 month old a puffer coat exactly for this. He’s gotten too heavy for me to lift in a doona and my new car seat isn’t transferable. He has a bunting for his stroller but I wasn’t sure how to get him to car without a puffer…

Wrap him in a thick blanket. If you park right outside it’s not a big deal. If you need to walk far take him out of the car seat and put a jacket on.

My kids have a fleece jacket/ suit (depending on the age) and warm hat. I keep a blanket for each kid in the car to tuck them in onde we're outside. We move fast, put them in, tuck them in.
