When I need to be actually tzniut in the middle of the night, like when I have guests sleeping over and I need to go into baby's room to give a bottle. Otherwise I don't mind to wear a nightgown, but would not be comfortable having a stranger see me in one.

Cuz it's easier than finding other pajamas. I generally change into a slinky skirt as soon as I get home from work and change out of it just before leaving for work the next morning

Why would you sleep in a nightgown?
Why would you wear a pajama set?

My slinky skirt is comfortable to wear to sleep and I feel comfortable being seen in it.

Why is it that different than a nightgown?

I always either wear long tees or nightgowns (or nothing). Having an open bottom as opposed to pants is pretty normal for sleepwear

Why not? Who needs rules for how to dress in the privacy of their home in the middle of the night???!!!
Maybe they find it comfortable, or practical or both and anyway why would you care?

Is it cotton? My slinky skirt is not a breathable cotton.

Because it's easier for nursing when co-sleeping than having to unbutton or unzip things in your sleep.

I'll probably go back to nightgowns when I finish nursing.

I slept in my clothes, slinky skirt included, during operation kipat barzel about 9 years ago...
If the siren would sound, the safest place for my apt was the stairwell, where is meet neighbors who also didn't have a reinforced room. (We also didn't have a basement bomb shelter.)

I wear a nightgown usually

Because it's
* convenient (I get up super early and wait outside for the bus)
* Tznius (I have older kids now and prefer to be tznius at home)
* Affordable (have you seen the prices on tznius nightgowns at frum stores?!)
* Can easily be paired with cute hoodies, sweatshirts, or tshirts
* Convenient for nursing
* Stretchy, work during pregnancy too

These are all good reasons why I have one next to my bed so I can pull it on whenever needed:)
It would never occur to me to sleep in an ankle length skirt.
I usually sleep in soft cotton shorts and a tank.

And a nightgown is a dress.

And pajamas are pants or shorts.

And leggings are.... leggings. My girls sleep in leggings, post sem and down. 99% of their friends do too. They ask and I buy it for them. How does one sleep in leggings?!! So tight and hot! And in camp!
(Pssss...They sleep in it because 99% of their friends do)

I didn't really "think" of the slinky skirt. It evolved over time and I realized I really like it!
I preferred nightgowns originally, but did not like nursing in them or being seen by my older children in them.

This exactly.
Why would I have to sleep fully clothed? I wear a big t shirt or something else super comfy.
I have the skirt next to my bed or on hook near door

Ha, I always thought I was the only one who wears comfy slinky skirts and cotton or slinky tops. I was embarrassed to tell people about it
*I find it much more comfortable than nightgowns.
*I used to feel like a shmatte in a nightgown
*I hated the look of nightgowns, it looks shluchy.
*It also feels more mentchlich when needing to get out of the room without needing to put something on.
*pricewise- it's waaaaay cheaper than nightgowns.
