I really want salmon for erev Yom Kippur & Sukkos. I haven't been buying lately because it's gotten so expensive. I'm wondering if any stores have it for less.

I see Bingo is advertising a side for 8.99/lb.

Does anywhere else have pieces for that price or a side for cheaper? (I'm ok with the packages of tails, too)

Can you please post the fresh salmon prices in stores you shop? (I know I can get frozen for cheaper, but we never like it as much as the fresh bought-even when I freeze the fresh, it's better)

ETA in case anyone doesn't notice the forum- I'm looking for prices in Lakewood

I think Kosher West has advertised $9.99 for a family pack of salmon fillets (I think with the skin/tail, but not sure) - check in The Voice or BP for their advertisement.

ETA: I know it's more than the price you mentioned, but still a less expensive price than non-sale price nowadays...

Since when does a kosher fish need a hechsher?

I was told that because salmon has a unique color and can’t be confused with another fish, it does not need a hechsher. Knife should not matter since it’s cold and not davar charif.

I go. Specifically to aldi for salmon. The Jewish stores have an awful taste.
These are fresh and cheaper. Win win.
Doesn't need a hechsher. Just rinse and use.

This isn't a usual response. I've heard numerous times again and again and cRc all said salmon is fine and should just be washed. I don't know this rabbi so I wouldn't just pasken based on him.
Just sharing a diff opinion.
