This is not new it has been going on for years.

In many national parks they have signs by scenic out posts warning you not to go father if you want a selfie.

Not to mention stories about people walking into man holes and other such places because they were to busy looking at their phones. So much that big cities around the globe are making the streets\sidewalks light up red or green for people who can't be bothered to look up from their cell phone.

It's unfortunately not the first time something like this is happening. It happens on a quite often basis at this point. People put their lives on the line to get a good selfie.
