Can't afford big vacations, so that answers that part of the Q. Smile

I'd prefer small day trips but not several times a week - don't have patience for the very frequent packing and unpacking and packing anew. And also works out costly. I like overnight trips/2 nights getaway, or over Shabbos.

Well I had to have an either/or - put 2 choices out, Smile

and not all parents want their children to be the "class queen" or amongst the top. It can be a pressure for the child to constantly have to keep up a composed facade.
