Does water ruin satin? I'd try pouring boiling water over to melt the wax. But I don't know satin...

Put boiling water in a plastic bag, let it sit on the wax for a couple of seconds and wipe it clean.

tried this on afew materials but not satin.

put a spoon (not plastic LOL) on flame until very hot.

put a paper towel on the stain (it should absorb the wax) and rub the wax with the hot spoon (on the paper towel).

Wow, you guys have great ideas! Seems like you can combine the hot spoon idea with the boiling water in a bag idea. Put a paper towel on the stain and put a bag of boiling water over the paper towel. Rub the bag and see if the wax goes into the paper towel. Seems the most gentle that way.

Let us know what you do and if it works. Good luck!

PLEASE! Before you try the boiling water deal, put the item in the freezer until the wax turns brittle. Then give it a good sharp whack to break the wax into pieces. Use a butter knife or edge of a credit card to remove any stubborn pieces. Once that's done, treat as you would any grease stain. Google it.

If the bag was expensive, I'd take it to a dry cleaner and ask if they can handle it. Exposing it to heat could melt adhesives that you don't even know are there and cause the bag to fall apart or at least cause the fabric to ripple.
