When its just our family:

Homemade challah and dips
fish (occasionally I'll make something else for an appetize like meat roll or a blintz or something with mushroom sauce)
chicken soup with knaidel
chicken or meat (not both)
potato kugel
won tons or egg rolls
sometimes another kugel

I dont bother with salads since I dont eat anything really on friday night, maybe soup but thats it, and my husband doesnt eat salad or veggies

shabbos day

fish with a salad like crunchy cole slaw
sometimes liver
cold cuts
shnitzel
Cholet
deli salad

I make desserts to have in the house but we don't specifically have desserts at the meal. but I usually have brownies, cinnamon buns and chocolate chip cookies lying around that we munch on

How does everyone keep sourdough warm for Shabbos day? Mine is always hard by the next day.
