I wasn't there personally, my parents went last winter (60s). Dealt with a child otd many years ago. They were both blown away by the speakers and the organization.... wish such support was available when they were going thru this. For days, my father (who is not into speeches) was raving about what he heard and sent me links to hear a speaker. The outlook and guidance for parents of all children and especially children going thru a rough time was unbelievable.
I know a couple that flew in from Israel to attend the American weekend who have gained tremendously from their support on how to deal with their son who has veered far off from the family's path...

Did you enjoy last year?
Are you going back?
I just signed up to go but I’m getting a little nervous…

I went last time they had one and going back in June.
There's pros and cons. It's was extremely emotionally draining to see and hear some very, very sad stories.
It's also comforting to know you're not alone, there are ppl from all backgrounds there.
Chassidim, yeshivish and some more modern, rich families and poor ones, older parents and younger ones... I really got a lot of chizzuk and encouragement to deal with the situation in a more positive and accepting way.
I hope you enjoy it.

What were the cons? That it was draining?

Yes! It's extremely intense.
One speech after another. You can skip if you want but I wanted to take as much advantage as they were offering!
It's ends very very late both nights.
And it's an emotional roller coaster!

Thank you for sharing!
I will IyH be going this year.
I’m nervous that it might be too heavy and at the same time looking forward for the chizzuk.
I’m curious how the seating is in the dining room..
