So let me tell u how I think they got there and then who knows maybe one of u smart women can enlighten me how I can salvage my otherwise great condition cups Confused
Here goes embarrassed Well I ran out of for the second time around dishwashing powder for my dishwasher and my husband wasn't going to be able to get it till the following day.
So I hate dirty dishes lying for more then a few hrs nevermind even aday. shock So creative me Rolling Eyes didn't think of washing them by hand NOOO that would have been more sensicle Rolling Eyes
I decided our laundry detergent which accidentaly is kosher ou, so what would happen if I put a little insy weensy powder into my dishwasher Idea well yea it did clean my dishes really well the first time.
So when I ran out of dishwashing powder again I thought no harm done lets try this marvelous method again. Rolling Eyes
Only prob is it ate away at the tips of my dishwasher racks leaving my cups w/h rust stains. I mean how else could rust stains accur on an otherwise good dishwasher Question Question
And smart me realized now finally how foolish I was. Now not only do I have to buy new racks but also new cups maybe about 10 of them were corelle unless one of u can help me. Confused
I will be indebted to u for thinking and helping me in my phlight how can I survive w/hout my morning coffee Tongue Out

I use baking soda on a washcloth for rust stains. Baking soda is a very mild abrasive, so it won't scratch. You will have to use elbow grease and use a lot on a slightly damp cloth.
