What I meant by the bolded was that the price for half the book is already so high and then I need to figure out the price for printing it. So this project is becoming a lot more expensive than I envisioned if the price for illustrations and formatting alone is so high. I’m not saying it’s not a hard job, it’s the hardest part for sure but I’m saying it’s still half the job because there’s nothing I can do with a book I can’t print if I’m out of money.

I hear you. Your best bet is to go with a beginner who is looking to get the experience.
You are not taking advantage, if you find someone who is happy to take the job at the price.
