Deciding whether to buy a steam mop for my kitchen and bathrooms. (All tiled.)
Is it better than a regular mop?
Any experience/advice?
TIA

It takes a lot less energy. I have the shark rotating one. It doesn't take faster ( you need to give time for the steam to come out) & it leaves streaks on shiny floors. But I still love it.

Absolutely.

You don’t have to rinse or scrub.

I love it. There’s very little to do after the fact as well. No dirty water to dispose of. Don’t need to wait for the mop to dry. Just chuck the pad into the wash.

I am not sure why any of them would leave streaks if used correctly.

You are not using anything but distilled water to clean the floors so there is nothing to streak. When you mop with traditional stuff you have to make sure you rinse off the soapy stuff after mopping to do it right.

If you have streaks it is probably because the floor was exceptionally dirty and so you didn't clean it completely on the first round.

I don't know if it is the best but mine works very well.

It is a Bissell - under $100 - and positive review from 42,000 amazon buyers

Bissell Power Fresh Steam Mop with Natural Sanitization, Floor Steamer, Tile Cleaner, and Hard Wood Floor Cleaner with Flip-Down Easy Scrubber, 1940A

I have one that I don’t use. It is heavy and takes a lot of time. The swiffer is much lighter faster and easier to scrub the dirt off with.
