Why or why not?
I’ll start- as a kid, no. It was hard for a lot of people to pronounce and it bothered me when they would mess it up badly.
Now, I find people are very culturally sensitive and used to dealing with foreigners. I get a lot of comments on what a beautiful name I have and I like it much better now!

Yes - but I only use one of my three.
Filling out the name section on state exams was such a pain!

I've accepted it and it is who I am. I connect more with its meaning than its phonics.

No. It's very hard for people to pronounce, and it never felt like me. I wish I had an easier, more modern name. I tried to give my kids names that were more pronounceable.

Mine's not common at all. But it means something beautiful, and together with my mother's name (my tehillim name) I have a very beautiful meaning all around. I was once with my husband at a gadol, discussing a personal issue, and then he asked me for my full name. When we told him, his response was "Wow, what a beautiful name!"
I do get people assuming my nationality, which is annoying, because they're usually wrong. And official things are annoying, because my legal name seems unrelated to the name I'm called by. I'm always the first to tell people here to just write on the birth certificate whatever you're going to call the child!
My second name, which I don't use much, is completely unheard of to most. But that was named after a very special grandmother and I actually love it!

as a kid not. it was too regular and typical.
as an adult, I'm ok with it and can appreciate the ease of having a common name.

My name is Esther. I don't love it but it suits me. The meaning really embodies who I am. Whether I like it or not.

So interesting! I always thought it was hard to have a hard to pronounce name and kids with typical names were luckier.

I feel this way too.
I don't love it because, for non-Jews it's VERY difficult to pronounce correctly.
I hate having to use it over the phone.
When I went to a coffee shop, I'd always give a fake American name.
But it's okay. It's not an awful or ugly name.

I like my name, and I tend to like more uncommon names that people don’t like.
I know at least 11 people that don’t like their middle name, but I love it!

I'm ok with it.
My name is pronounced differently than most ppl in my circle's pronounce it.
Think TAmar instead of TaMAR.
But it is what it is and I am who I am.
