Want to start baking challa every week. I tried in the past but it was always super stressful because I used a recipe with fresh yeast. Would prefer using dry yeast. Any really good and easyish challa recipes? Thanks!

4 Tbsp dry yeast, mix with 4 cups of warm water and 1 1/2 cups of sugar. Leave to bubble for about 20 mins.

In mixer, mix 5lb bread flour, 3Tbsp salt, 5 large eggs, 1 cup oil. add yeast mixture and knead for 10 mins. Let rise until double in size, about 1 hour. Take challah with bracha, braid (6 medium ones) leave for 30 mins. Glaze with egg and bake on 350 for about 30-40 mins. Enjoy!!!

6lb bag challah flour
3 TBS dry yeast
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup oil
5 tsp salt
7 cups warm water
4 eggs

Proof yeast with 1 cup water and 1 TBS sugar.
In a mixer, put eggs, oil and sugar and mix. Add the yeast water and add 6 cups water. Pour in 1/2 bag flour, mix well and add salt. Pour in rest of flour and mix for 12 minutes. Let rest 5 mins. Mix again 5 mins (this activates the gluten in the flour)
Put into a garbage bag sprayed well with oil spray. Let rest 45 mins, take challah and braid. Egg it and sprinkle on sesame seeds or everything spice.
Bake at 220 for 20 mins and then raise temp to 350 and bake till done.

Note: all cup measurements are done with a 7oz plastic cup.
