My baby is 16 months and just hit the 19 lb mark.
As long as your baby is eating normally, and hitting the proper milestones, then its fine. Some babies are just skinnier and/or have super fast metabolisms

My kids were ALL less than 20lbs at a year. My ped always said “we want to see them triple their birthweight by one year” but that doesn’t always happen.

I don't understand this, a 6lb baby can triple their birth weight in a year but my 10lb baby didn't even double in a year. A 1 year old should not be weighing 30lbs.

Obviously this is a suggestion, not a steadfast guideline. It will not be true for every baby.

Wow.
My 6 month old is 19.5 lb and I just introduced solids. Only nursing until now. I think it has a lot to do with genetics OP, and if your doctor (who see’s multiple babies a day) is not worried, I wouldn’t worry.
Is this your first child? Is the baby tall?

I do trust the doctors, it's just when he was 9 months his weight wasn't that well so I was worried. He is my first child and I thought he was tall. He was born 22 inches. Now he's 29 3/4 and Dr says it's not that tall. My hub is 6 ft and I'm 5'7 so....
I just wanted to hear from other mothers if this is the norm and I guess it is.

Thanks everyone!

Not doubling in a year is concerning. My nine pounder was 19 pounds by 3.5 months.
