What are some of your best ideas??
I don’t travel often but א״יה am finally planning on going to Israel!
Comfort is important to me.
I don’t wear bandfalls.
I can wear a full wig but isn’t that uncomfortable for activities? Is there a specific full wig that I can put in a pony maybe? I don’t want to ruin any of my nicer wigs and be worried about their care. And how can I wear a cap on top for sun coverage?
I could wear hat falls though would I then be stuck in a cap/whatever hat I wear?
Can I just wear headscarves? But how do I protect against sun?
Should I look into ponytail extensions to clip on under a cap? Though again, I would be stuck in that hat.

What options am I missing?
Any and any suggestions welcome!
Links to products and brand recommendations appreciated!

A lot of hats will fit over a wig, just go to a store and try on caps in different sizes Smile

A pony or short wig will probably be best.

If you go the scarf route, there are SPF options

I'd look through Coolibar and see what there is in terms of scarves and hats with SPF protection

I wore an old bandfall that is more like a hatfall , I would never wear it with a band, it doesnt look nice.

I wore it with a bandana that was elasticated at the back so it would not budge.

Iv worn it to theme parks, on rollercoaters on windy days at the beach.
Can wear a cap with it aswel or a hat.

When are you coming, and which part of the country will you be visiting? Right now in Jerusalem it is overcast with a chilly wind, and I'd be more concerned about potential rain protection than sun protection.

Thanks!
I hope to go in March, but want to plan ahead.
Wunder wig is a good idea but for some reason does not fit my head normally.
Are there any other wig brands with a similar concept?
The elasticized bandannas might work; I just don’t want to feel like a pirate.
Is it acceptable to just wear head scarf or will I stick out?
Any other ideas?

I was in Yerushalayim last March and it was chilly and rainy.

Plenty of people in Israel wear hats or mitpachot all the time. I would guess they are at least as common as sheitals.

March the weather can go either way, and there will be a lot of variation in different parts of the country.

I either wore an old band fall which I didn’t care if it got sun damaged since it was already damaged or I wore a tichel. I’m someone who usually wears a sheitel only , but in E”Y I felt very comfortable with a tichel and I did not feel out of place at all. It was super comfy.

I was there in the heat of the summer and just washed my wig as soon as I got back.
The mistake I made was only taking one wig. It would have been good to be able to switch off between two. Traveling doesn’t kill your wig for good. It’s fine again after a wash and set.
I did change into a snood on the plane and when we went to a separate beach.

I live in Israel and wear a pretied tichel most days. Sometimes I wear a sheitel.
Chareidi women often wear scarves here.

Check out the hustle wig. It's meant to be with with a hat or scarf.

How about a pocket bun?

You wear a cap and you attach it to your gun so it covers your hair.

In March I would wear a regular sheitel if that’s what you own I don’t see any need to buy something special. The sun isn’t very strong that time of year nor is it super rainy so you shouldn’t damage your wig. If you go the beach or on a hike I’d wear a tichel/scarf.
I went in the summer and still wore a regular sheitel most days since that’s what I’m comfortable with. I put a hat on top when I was in the sun for long periods of time otherwise I was fine with sunglasses and sunscreen. I had it washed when I got back and it’s perfectly fine. No special care needed while I was there.

My shaitel got ruined for good on my trp to Israel. Maybe because I also wore a cap on it. It was terrible, even after washing and setting a few times. Between the sun and trips that involve sand, like jeeping, it was over even though I only got it about 7 months before. Now I switch into a tichel when I do the sandy messy activities... my next trip I'd love to get a band fall that I can wear with different head coverings such as a cap, bandana

The bandana I wore is basically a very wide band that comes to a triangle at the back.

Its basically a pretied bandana, but its only one layer.

I didnt look like a pirate at all.

Just looks like a band but covers more hair and more stylish.
