We make a combined $160,000 and must have two cars because we live OOT and have lots of carpools for the kids and both need to get to work:

2016 Sienna, bought used in 2019. So happy we replaced our older minivan before COVID! Will be done paying off the auto loan in less than a year.

2009 Camry, may it live and be well for many more years. We bought it in 2010 and finished paying it off a long time ago.

Your dh drives the Tesla?

We have similar cars and no, I drive the Tesla.
Why do you make such assumptions?
I work in tech and appreciate the Tesla more than him. His work is messy (construction) and therefore he drives an older car that he doesn't care to ruin.

You meant $1,000,000 not shekel, right?

Yes Baruch Hashem it was not a mistake and it was dollars. We struggled for many many years so we have really grateful for our income and we certainly do not take it for granted so we really do put away a very large amount into savings for the future. Our budget is way less than what we are making and honestly I don't want to ever have a super crazy lifestyle. I literally own one piece of jewelry the ring I get engaged with. Everybody has different priorities in life. We have definitely made giving tzed kah a priority and we are starting to give a little bit more than the 10%. I'm not ready to jump to 20 right away that we have seen a lot of blessing the more we give.

We live OOT. It's not possible to have one car, but we do the impossible.
We rent cars for the occasions where taking shifts or taking taxis or getting a ride won't work.

We were able to give $100,000 in tzedaka donations this year BH. I don't work. Our kids are older- in their 20s so we are out of the tuition stage. We're not worried about paying for weddings. (we just need them to find the person to get married to and that has been a challenge) We have enough savings for that and a lot saved for retirement. We're comfortable. I still drive my 2004 Toyota Sienna which has 175,000 miles on it but drives fine so why get a new car? I have no need to impress anyone and we find the van has been helpful. My husband drives a 2015 small SUV also not a statement car. It's all good. A car is to get from point A to point B and not a priority in my life.

We live in Monsey and this is a huge issue for us. We Uber alot, but they aren't reliable. We also need to do carpool, sometimes back to back. With multiple driver we need to keep track of the car to much
