I had a sleeve on Oct 2020 - B’H I lost and have kept off about 55kg. Best decision I have ever made. Seeing a psychologist who specialises in bariatric surgery patients also really helped too - I don’t think I would have been as successful with seeing one.

I'm coming to terms with the fact that I will need to do bariatric surgery and I want to get this over with ASAP. Who is the best, preferably in NJ? How do I go about this? Please tell me your success stories because I'm terrified. I don't care about the weight, I want to hear about other positive health outcomes and lack of complications. Thank you!

I did it. It will be 3 years in December iy"h. My highest weight was 271. I'm now about 155. I used nj bariatric center. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions

I did the band in 2007 and lost 75lbs. Kept it off without trying for 3 years. I then tried diet pills that did not work and caused me to gain 20lbs very quickly. I maintained the rest of the weight loss without trying for another 3 years but then took diet pills again and gained the rest back, plus a whole bunch, after stopping. I did the sleeve within the last year and I’m down close to 100lbs since without following the diet I should and I also don’t exercise. I still have a long way to go and hope to get back on track soon. No complications from the sleeve. My band slipped and I needed it revised then slipped again and had to come out. Highly recommend fielding who did my band and eid who did my sleeve.

Im actually not skinny at all despite watching what I eat and exercising. I am sharing true experiences of people I personally know. I know how hard it is to lose weight but the surgery has risks that op can hear about too.

My point wasn’t skinny or not the point was did u do the surgery urself?
Ppl who didn’t do the surgery have a negative approach to the surgery as I’ve found when I’ve done my own research

I have a friend who did the bypass and she is has to do iron infusions for severe iron deficiency-
I’ve heard ppl talk abt how she did the ‘sleeve’ and it’s so bad look how she is- most ppl don’t even realize that she did a while different surgery that comes with more risks
So when u hear Ppl talk abt sick ppl who did the sleeve it’s very likely that they did the bypass or the duodenal switch which are much more severe, so double check! my brother in law and my mother and I all did the sleeve in the past 3 years and are all happy bh I can’t tell u how we’ll be in the future but I hope for the best! We were all by roslin u can DM me if u need!!

Like all medical treatments and surgeries- maintenance is needed. They are not magic pills. So too, risks and side affects can occur and differ from one person to another.
My dd had surgery 3 years ago. Lately she gained weight. Her lifestyle had changed- she bought a car and isdriving every where instead of walking. She also has longer work hours and stopped preparing lunch to take with. Here’s the thing- she gained about 10 lbs. without the surgery her weight would have ballooned faster.
She definitely recommends the surgery.

It's not pleasant to weigh 300 lb but I wouldn't do something so drastic if it was just about looks, fitting into clothing/chairs etc. I'm struggling with secondary infertility, high blood sugar, sleep apnea, and most challenging for me, some loss of mobility plus lots more.

My relationship with food and my body is better than it was when I was thin. I take good care of myself as best as I can and I feel like I don't have any other options. I truly don't want to do this but I also don't want bandaid medical treatments to deal with the individual issues. I'm at a loss.

Doctors won't treat me properly because they just want me to lose weight. Losing weight is not an action, it's an outcome and outcomes are not something we can always control. I'm scared I'm going to die young because doctors don't any of my symptoms seriously.

My thoughts are all over the place but I really wanted to answer you because I appreciate your post very much.

I could write this post word for word.

I know someone who did it and a few weeks post surgery never woke up… surgeries have real risks
