That’s a lot of square footage to keep clean!
How many bedrooms do you have?
How many people living at home?
Do you rent out/not use a portion of your home? How much?
What size home did you grow up living in?

I find it’s easier to keep a larger home clean as there is less clutter and there is more open space. Yes, I have cleaNing help but we both work full time so the house is empty during the day so it stays clean.

I have a master bedroom plus four bedrooms on second floor.

First floor has a DR/LR/kitchen study and guest suite.

How many sq feet? We have 5 bedrooms 3 bathrooms. And I can’t figure out where we could possibly fit all that you had.

Small is relative. Biggest one is 14 by 13 smallest maybe 9 by 8. But I’m grateful for what I have

This makes me scratch my head.

I am not in Lakewood, and I have a 2800 sf home. We have 5 bedrooms and 3 baths upstairs. Granted, we also have use of our basement, which has a nice amount of play space and another bedroom + bath. In our town my house is considered quite spacious, and I really don’t feel lacking at all.

In what way can 3800 sf be small??

Some people in Lakewood have 8+ kids that are all close in age. 3800sf may be tight for a very large family.

My thoughts exactly. I’m the amother with maybe 1800 square feet. Maybe it’s Bec it’s a complete nes that I own my house and maybe it’s because I used to live in complete garbage but how can 3800 be small

I’m an introvert. We are 5 people in 3200 sf and it’s tough! Maybe that’s bec the kids follow me wherever I go 😂

*not in Lakewood*
Ours is 2854. We have a small bedroom/office on the first floor, plus pop a living room, dining room, kitchen, playroom, entrance, and bathroom with a shower. Second floor is 4 big bedrooms plus full master bathroom plus regular bathroom. Third floor is 2 big bedrooms (one with a smaller room attached) a big storage room, and a full bathroom. Basement is 1 very big bedroom, full bathroom plus also a room with just a toilet (sink is outside) and kitchen. We host a lot and our living room and dining room are really not big enough.
We also have a very nice sized back yard, with a big pool and deck, small basketball court, a shed, and a large patio.

Okay, I only have 5. But I could easily fit a few more before it’s tight.

In my OOT city there are many families with 6, 7, 8 kids living in 2000 sf or less. They might feel cramped, but it’s doable. I can’t imagine how over 3000 feels small.

I can’t even imagine. We just moved into 1600 sf (plus storage on the basement) with 5 kids and I feel like a queen with 2 bathrooms 4 bedrooms and a laundry room and closets and storage!

I really don’t see the need of living in a huge house. I would be lazy to walk around all the time. Do you ever see your kids?
